Jonathan joined Murfett Legal in April 2024. Jonathan has significant commercial and estate planning experience having previously worked at a large Perth law firm, a pro-bono legal service, as a sole practitioner, at a small law firm, and then as part of in the Australian Army as a full time Legal Officer in Sydney, Canberra and Perth. 

Jonathan has experience negotiating, drafting and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts. He also has experience in estate planning, commercial and civil litigation, liquor licensing, intellectual property, privacy, administrative, military discipline and military operations law.

Jonathan acts for a variety of commercial clients including public unlisted and private companies, trusts, family businesses, professional services firms and not-for-profits across different industries. He also acts for individuals in estate planning, drafting Wills with varying levels of complexity. 

Jonathan holds qualifications in Law and Arts from the University of Western Australia, Alphacrucis University College, and the Australian National University.  During his time in Defence, he also obtained qualifications in Leadership and Management, and Government.

Jonathan enjoys building ongoing relationships with his clients by providing commercially focussed and practical legal advice.
