We understand the personal and business issues confronting specialists in private and the public health care system and therefore have a team of dedicated solicitors in various legal areas including but not limited to restructuring, taxation and estate planning.
Murfett Legal has the capability and experience to act and advise Medical Providers from the outset from establishing a practice or business right through to complete legal advice and documentation of various components of medical or allied health practices.
Our Commercial team at Murfett Legal understands the bespoke documentation required by medical and allied health professional Medical Providers for the operation of their business, for example, services terms & conditions, privacy policies, employment agreements (including professional remuneration model and KPIs), subcontractor agreements, shareholder/partnership agreements, assistance with obtaining Medicare Provider Numbers, leases and licences to occupy.
Murfett Legal offers legal services that are both professional and personable. There is no automation of document creation, for example, with family trusts, the settled sum of $10 is actually provided which is an important trust establishment requirement which is regularly omitted by the automated documentation providers.
Given the niche and bespoke arrangements between Medical Providers and their employers, our tax team is also up-to-date with the most recent tax rulings that affect trusts, companies (i.e. IT 2503 and IT 2639) and alienation of personal services income issues being interposed through the use of trusts and companies (TA 2013/3).
Murfett Legal can assist in minimising costs, administration time and maximise flexibility and achieve other significant commercial and asset protection advantages.
Further, Murfett Legal can also provide advice relating to the personal affairs of Medical Providers by offering comprehensive estate planning and asset protection advice and documentation such as Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Powers of Guardianship and the like.
At Murfett Legal, we are transparent about our legal fees and the scope of works. Prior to the commencement of each matter, we disclose our estimated legal fees and scope of works so that the client is fully aware of the costs involved. In providing our legal services, Murfett Legal offers a full service offering including:
- reviewing of all background documents and understanding the unique business operations of the Medical Provider; and
- liaising and meeting with the client and their third party advisors, at times and places convenient to the Medical Provider.
With the busy fast paced work schedule of Medical Providers, we understand that time is scarce and we are more than able to accommodate the after hours requirements to attend the premises of Medical Providers to discuss and advise on their particular legal matters.
Whilst our legal fees for advice and documentation are dependent upon each individual matter, as a guide to our fees, the following services are offered at fixed costs, including:
- Company registration from $990 (plus GST and disbursements)
- Set up Family Trusts from $600 (plus GST and disbursements)
- Set up Unit Trusts from $600 (plus GST and disbursements)
- Drafting a bespoke Service Agreement between the Medical Provider entity and the service entity (e.g. trust or corporation) can also be completed and a price provided upon applicaton.
