Janine joined Murfett Legal in September 2021 as a Senior Associate in Employment and Workplace Relations.
Janine previously worked at a boutique Perth firm and was also the Associate to Chief Commissioner SJ Kenner in the WA Industrial Relations Commission.
Janine is experienced in providing timely and cost-effective advice to clients on performance and conduct issues, workplace investigations, unfair dismissals, workplace rights, anti-discrimination legislation, sexual harassment, bullying, unpaid entitlements, CEO and executive recruitment, independent contractors, employment contracts, workplace manuals and policies and procedures.
Janine has appeared in a wide range of matters before the Fair Work Commission, WA Industrial Relations Commission, Industrial Magistrates Court, Magistrates Court of WA, District Court of WA, Equal Opportunity Commission, State Administrative Tribunal, Australian Human Rights Commission and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
Janine acts for a variety of clients including public and private companies, company directors and officers, incorporated associations, not-for-profit organisations, indigenous organisations, sole-traders and partnerships.
Janine holds qualifications in Law and Arts from the University of Western Australia.
Janine has a proactive approach and enjoys assisting clients to understand their legal rights and obligations and to navigate the complex and constantly changing employment and workplace laws.
