General Manager
Corene brings a wealth of knowledge to Murfett Legal having worked as an administrator in the legal profession since 1991 and as an Office Manager / Practice Manager of various law firms since 1995.
Having worked for two well known and highly regarded boutique firms from 2000 to 2012, Corene then assisted with the integration of one of those firms into a large WA independent firm. However, in September 2014 Corene set up her own consultancy business assisting practices with all aspects of legal practice management and client development. However, after successfully establishing her consulting business Corene was lured back into a full-time position to assist with the launch of a global law firm in Australia as their Practice Manager of the Australian operations in both Sydney and Perth.
Corene was a member of the Law Society of WA’s Law Office Management section from 1996 and sat on the Law Office Management Committee since 2002 (as Convenor since 2003). As part of this role, Corene was actively involved in co-ordinating an array of events and initiatives through the Committee for the law office managers and legal support executives of Western Australia. Corene was also responsible for organising the biennial Law Office Management Expo and other networking events for the members of this section of the Society.
Corene is currently a member of the Legal Practice Section of the Law Council of Australia and previously sat as the WA representative for the Australian Law Management Group. She is also a member of the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA) and the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
