Work History / Qualifications:
Nick established Murfett & Co, the predecessor to Murfett Legal, in 1990. In 2006 Nick established Murfett Legal. Nick sold his equity in Murfett Legal between 2006 and 2008 and now practices as a consultant to the Firm.
In the past 24 years of legal practice, Nick has acquired experience in a broad range of commercial and civil matters . Nick’s main reason for leaving practice in a large firm was to avoid being pigeon-holed.
Nick’s focus is his clients. He aggressively and proactively seeks to assist clients to achieve their goals.
Nick has a background in farming, having been a partner in his family’s livestock and cropping farm in Northern Tasmania until moving to Western Australia in 1989.
Nick has a strong interest in business and commerce and holds (or has held) executive positions on the boards of several varied businesses including farming, aviation, property development, debt collection, liquor and entertainment and charities.
Despite a large amount of varied experience in commercial and civil litigation, Nick has a strong interest in mediation and alternative dispute resolutions for clients who seek to resolve disputes without litigation.
